Portfolio Art
Portfolio Art at Blue Ridge High School, is an elective offered every year for grades 9-12 and is one year in length. This course builds on fundamental art skills, techniques, and knowledge that were acquired in Art I, II and III. Students will be independently focusing on building an art portfolio for entrance into a college or university or for personal artistic gain. Students must be self-motivated to create a body of work to be displayed at the end of the school year and/or presented to their schools of choice. Students will follow a portfolio checklist from Blue Ridge or a specific school, college or university for guidance. Group and individual critiques will enhance the artistic experience and will promote communication and feedback. Students are encouraged to continue to develop and build their personal artistic voice. Students will work one-on-one with the teacher to set and meet goals and timelines. Student artwork will be uploaded by each student to the online art gallery, Artsonia.

You will submit your Portfolio at the end of the year for review to a panel as a final critique. Possibly at the time of senior interviews. Criteria to be determined.
For each project/artwork you complete you will follow the Recipe for Creativity Checklist for grading. Five projects are required each quarter. Each must be turned in by the due dates. 2 points are deducted each day it is late.
